Week 1, Day 5, Recovery Week One 

Today, take a 30-minute run or 45-minute walk.


This is the beginning of our two—to three-week recovery time. The idea is to get a physical, mental, and spiritual break. We read books, nap, goof off, and get outside and enjoy nature.

The workouts will be three days a week, and you can walk or bike to get you moving.

Each day, we will have an inspirational story for you.

Today, we are considering Sha’Carri Richardson.

After her 2021 Olympic Trials, Sha’Carri had a tough 2022.

In 2023, though, Sha’Carri came back with a vengeance, making the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay teams for Budapest.

In Budapest, she ran the 100m final in lane 9, being the last qualifier. She used that lane to her advantage, running seemingly blind, taking control of the 100 meters with thirty meters to go, and taking gold from the Jamaicans.

In the 200 meters, completely relaxed, Sha’Carri added a bronze to her 100m gold and ran with abandon.

And finally, in her 4x100m relay leg, Sha’Carri ran going away!

This is 2024, and it is the Olympic Trials all over again.

Will this be Sha’Carri’s year?

I believe so.

Her 100m in 10.83 at the Nike Pre Classic put her at the top of the list, then, and now, she will be racing America’s finest sprinters.

It is time to deliver.

The second most popular track athlete in the world on social media (behind Neeraj Chopra of India), Sha’Carri knows that she has to deliver in

Eugene to savor it all in Paris.

The 100-meter rounds begin tonight, June 21, 2024,  at 5:37 PM Pacific time.

A 30-minute easy run.

If you need something to do outside (it is hot today), walk 30 minutes early, ride a bike, or, best yet, take an easy swim and enjoy the day!
