Warm-up slowly,

75-90 minutes, moderate running, if you are racing 1500m-5k

60-70 minutes if you are racing 800m to 1,500m.

Cooldown slowly,

hydrate,

get wet clothes off asap,

recover

Larry’s Deep Thoughts: Long runs are key to your training. We suggest one a week for 14-18 year olds, and keeping the mileage under control. Each workout should have a reason, no trash miles here.
