The Traditional St. Patrick's Day Celebration Will Feature a Virtual Race, an Eight-Week Training Challenge, and the Deloitte Team Competition CHICAGO, December 17, 2020 - Today the Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle announced the launch of registration for the long-standing Chicago tradition, which will return as a virtual event in 2021. For more than four decades, runners have participated in this popular road race to kick off the outdoor running season and continue the St. Patrick's Day celebration in Chicago. An eight-week Training Challenge will keep runners motivated and moving on their journey to the virtual race weekend experience, which will take place Friday, March 19 through Sunday, March 21.

CHANDLER, Arizona -- Sara Hall came tantalizingly close to besting Deena Kastor’s American women’s record and seven men broke 2:10 in a remarkable day of racing Sunday morning at The Marathon Project in Chandler, Arizona.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Two-time Olympian Molly Huddle (Providence, Rhode Island) bettered three American track records (pending) to earn USATF Athlete of the Week, while Julie Brown was voted by fans as the winner of the 32nd USATF Throwback Athlete of the Week award for setting an American record in the women’s 5,000m on October 30, 1976. In the absence of regular competition during the Covid-19 pandemic, we are taking a weekly look back at some of the great efforts by American track and field athletes through the years.

The sixth-fastest American woman ever in the marathon will be joined Sunday in Chandler, Arizona, by five of the top 10 men's finishers and four of the top 10 women's finishers from the U.S. Olympic Trials marathon for The Marathon Project 2020, an event custom-made for quick times over the 26.2-mile distance.

This week marks the opening of the voting process for the 2020 World Athletes of the Year ahead of the World Athletics Awards 2020 to be held virtually on Saturday 5 December.
